Hi there visitors, curious onlookers or lost internet travellers.
After suffering a variety of minor delays, irritating setbacks (due to the current crisis) and the recording of two new tracks etc, my new album Looks Like Heaven is finally complete and available for your listening pleasure!
After getting such a positive response to the R&B/Gospel-flavoured first single Have Mercy, album producer Rod McCormack and myself both felt that the album could probably use a couple more of my R&B influenced songs to balance out the more bluegrass style song selection and are now very happy with the overall mix of material. The two new added tracks were a challenge to complete due to travel restrictions but we managed to capture some great stuff against the odds thanks to the outstanding talents of my producer Rod McCormack and additional vocal contributions from the lovely Lily Lewis and my dear friends Shanley Del and James Gillard.
Since my last communication here I got together with my dear friend and very talented actor/filmmaker Stephen James King and made a video for Have Mercy. We had no budget, just a video camera, a couple of lights, our rural backyard featuring our 1957 “Viscount” caravan, my gorgeous dog “Ellie” and an abundance of silly ideas. We had heaps of fun and aside from my reticence to watch myself on screen I discovered that it’s actually fine to make a fool of yourself if you can create a little amusement for others and let’s face it we all need some cheering up right now!
Sadly our attempts to put together some live shows have so far have been thwarted due to current restrictions and although I won’t be playing my own shows this year I do intend to be at the Tamworth Festival for it’s 50thanniversary in Jan 2022 just to hang out, catch up with a few friends and let people know I’ve got a new album.
I am currently arranging a few select shows where I live here in the Northern Rivers region of NSW (Bundjalung Country) for late February and will announce those dates as soon as the details have been finalised.
